Every backup generator on your property produces hazardous waste. Under the Hazardous and Other Wastes Rules 2016 the liability follows the oil from your sump to its final destination — and it stays with you, not with whoever collected it. We are a CPCB-authorized re-refiner: we lift the oil, we re-refine it ourselves, and we hand you the Form 10 that closes the loop. The exposure

Why This Sits On Your Compliance Register

A 250 kVA standby generator holds roughly 30 to 40 litres in its sump and is typically drained every 250 to 500 running hours. A property with three or four sets, running through summer load-shedding and monthly test runs, will accumulate several hundred litres of used oil a year. That oil is Schedule I, Category 5.1 hazardous waste from the moment it leaves the engine.

The liability does not transfer
Handing drums to an unauthorized scrap dealer does not discharge your obligation. Under the cradle-to-grave principle the generator remains accountable for where that oil ends up. If it is burnt in a brick kiln or dumped, the trail leads back to your property.

Hospitals: the gap next to biomedical waste
NABH-accredited facilities run tight biomedical waste systems and then store DG oil in unmarked drums behind the plant room. It is the same statute, the same inspector, and the same register.

Hotels: the ESG and audit angle
Chains reporting on sustainability need a documented disposal route with an auditable manifest trail. A signed Form 10 from an authorized recycler is the evidence; a cash receipt from a kabadi is not.

Storage is its own exposure
Drums kept on open ground without secondary containment, labelling or a bund are a finding in themselves, separate from how the oil is eventually removed.

How A Pickup Works

A rough drum count and location. A photograph is enough to start.

Priced on volume and distance. You are selling a recoverable material, not paying a disposal fee.

Authorized vehicle collects
Our own RPCB-authorized hazardous waste fleet, with a TREM card and trained driver.

Form 10 manifest is raised
Signed by you, by the transporter and by us on receipt. Your copy is the record that closes your liability.

We re-refine it ourselves
The oil goes into our own plant in Jaipur. We are the recycler, not a broker passing it on.

AMC Contracts for Hotels & Hospital Groups

Most properties do not want to renegotiate a used-oil pickup every few months. We run annual maintenance contracts for hotel chains and hospital groups: a fixed collection schedule, an agreed per-litre rate for the year, and a documented disposal route you can put in front of an inspector, an auditor or a board.

State Pollution Control Boards expect a generator to show where its hazardous waste actually goes. An AMC with a CPCB-registered recycler is the tie-up that evidences it, and we provide our authorization certificates for you to attach to your own Consent to Operate or authorization application.

Monthly, quarterly or on-call by property. Your engineering team stops having to find a buyer every time the drums fill up.

Manifests filed per property and per collection, so the annual return under Form 4 writes itself instead of being reconstructed at year end.

A note on accuracy: the authorization or NOC is issued to you by your State Pollution Control Board, not by us. What an AMC with an authorized recycler does is supply the documented disposal arrangement that the application asks for. We will give you the certificates and the manifest trail; the consent itself is between you and the Board.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is used DG set oil classified as hazardous waste in India?
Yes. Used or spent oil falls under Schedule I, Category 5.1 of the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016. It must be handed only to an authorized recycler and every movement must travel on a Form 10 manifest.
We only generate a few hundred litres a year. Is it still worth doing properly?
The Rules do not set a minimum threshold. A small volume handled without documentation carries the same exposure as a large one. We collect from single-drum quantities upwards.
Do we pay you, or do you pay us?
We pay you. Used oil is a recoverable material with real value. The rate depends on volume, oil type and distance from our plant.
What is a Form 10 and why does it matter to a hotel or hospital?
Form 10 is the manifest that accompanies a hazardous waste consignment from generator to recycler. Copies are signed and retained at each stage, creating an auditable cradle-to-grave trail. It is the document that demonstrates you discharged your obligation correctly.
Can you collect from multiple properties under one arrangement?
Yes. Chains and hospital groups are usually set up as a single vendor arrangement with scheduled collections per property, each with its own manifest.
What happens if some drums turn out to be contaminated or mixed?
We tell you before lifting. Mixed or contaminated drums are still collectable but are priced differently, and we document them accurately rather than quietly reclassifying them.
